Microtopping in Lebanon

Microtopping is a 3 mm cement-polymer skin applied by hand over your existing floor or wall. No demolition, no joints, one continuous surface. MicroTop® is TopCrete’s registered microtopping brand, built on our own GraniTop material and applied by our crews in apartments, shops, restaurants and villas across Lebanon.

Microtopping, microcement or neocement?

All three names describe the same thing: a very thin, hand-trowelled cement coating that turns an existing floor or wall into one seamless concrete-look surface. Microtopping is the correct technical term. In Lebanon people commonly ask for neocement, and internationally you will hear microcement or micro cement. Whichever word you use, it is the same job — and MicroTop® is TopCrete’s registered brand for it, applied using our own GraniTop material.

What microtopping is (and what it is not)

It is a 3 mm layer, so it takes the shape of whatever is underneath: tiles, screed, old concrete, plasterboard, even stairs and bathroom walls. It is not a thick concrete pour — for that see PaveCrete. And it is not epoxy — for a glossy resin floor see MagicFlor. Microtopping gives you the raw concrete look with a matte or satin seal, in greys, whites, sand tones and darker shades.

Where it works

Living rooms and bedrooms over old tiles. Bathrooms and showers (fully sealed). Shop and boutique floors that need a clean, modern base. Restaurant walls and bar fronts. Stairs. High-rise apartments where pouring concrete is impossible — everything comes up in buckets. Minimum thickness is 3 mm, so door thresholds and levels barely move.

How we apply it

Prime the substrate, mesh where needed, two base coats trowelled by hand, then the finish coats in your chosen colour and texture — smooth, lightly clouded or rough. We finish with a protective clear sealer in matte or semi-gloss. Allow two hours between sealer coats and twelve hours before the floor goes into full use.

Frequently asked questions

Is microtopping the same as microcement and neocement?

Yes. Microtopping is the technical term; neocement is what it is usually called in Lebanon, and microcement is the international name. MicroTop® is TopCrete’s brand of it.

Can microtopping go over tiles?

Yes — that is its main use. We prime and mesh over the tiles and the joints disappear under the base coats.

Does microtopping crack?

Hairline movement can show if the substrate moves, which is why we mesh the base coat and treat existing cracks first. Properly sealed, it is very durable for residential and light commercial use.

How much does microtopping cost per m2 in Lebanon?
